The program

The future needs people who create, lead and make things happen. You can be one of them.

An idea can become a project. A project can grow into a company. And discovering the strength of your own voice can change how you show up in the world.

Over 15 years of work with young people in the United States and other countries, the founders of IMPACT have helped develop more than 2,200 young leaders. A track record devoted to sparking talent, widening horizons and building the confidence to turn possibilities into reality.

MOVA and Boston EDU present IMPACT: two intense days of learning and practice with Michael McCarthy, who teaches at Harvard, and mentors with international experience.

Power Skills: competencies also developed in Harvard's professional development programs, and more important than ever in the age of artificial intelligence.

  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Resilience, flexibility and agility
  • Leadership and social influence
  • Motivation and self-awareness
  • Communication
  • Negotiation
  • Empathy and active listening
  • Curiosity and lifelong learning

The program also covers entrepreneurship, an essential skill in this new era: spotting opportunities, structuring projects and business ideas, and exploring how to turn them into companies.

The world is being reinvented. Your ideas can be part of what comes next.

The six pillars

What you will learn

IMPACT brings together six pillars to help you widen your vision, build skills and turn what you learn into choices and actions. All of it through hands-on challenges, shared experiences and guidance from professionals and mentors.

  1. Innovation

Innovation and a view of the future

Discover how new ideas and technologies are changing the way we study, work and live. Follow your curiosity, question ready-made answers and learn to look at problems from different angles. Innovation starts when you see a possibility and ask yourself: how can I do this better?

  2. Mindset

    An entrepreneurial mindset

Build an entrepreneurial eye to spot opportunities, understand needs and imagine solutions that create value. Learn to ask questions, take initiative and treat challenges as part of learning. In a world reshaped by artificial intelligence, this mindset helps you see new paths to create projects, products and businesses.

  3. Power Skills

    Essential human skills

Build the skills to learn, handle challenges and act with confidence in the age of artificial intelligence: analytical thinking; resilience, flexibility and agility; leadership and social influence; creative thinking; motivation and self-awareness; negotiation; empathy and active listening; curiosity and lifelong learning. Through hands-on activities and group challenges, you turn these skills into actions that matter at school, in your relationships and in building your future.

  4. Action

    Turning ideas into action

Walk the path from having an idea to building a project or business. Learn to define the problem you want to solve, identify who your solution is for and build a value proposition. As a team, plan the first steps, test possibilities and explore how an idea can become a product, a service or a company.

  5. Communication

    Communication, persuasion and negotiation

Your ideas deserve to be heard. Learn to organize arguments, speak in public with confidence and listen to understand. Practice presenting proposals, handling different opinions and negotiating solutions, building communication that brings people together and opens doors.

  6. Transformation

    Leadership that creates change

Leadership starts with how you act and what you do with what you learn. Reflect on your values, recognize the effect of your choices and discover how to contribute to the groups you belong to. Build leadership grounded in responsibility, collaboration and initiative to make a difference around you.

How it works

The journey starts before the immersion

An online prep session, two days in person, and learning that stays with you.

  1. Before

    Preparation and connection

About 45 days before the immersion, an online session covers the program guidelines, the prep materials and the cases you will work on. A first contact to spark questions and arrive ready to take part.

  2. During

Two days to learn and put it into practice

Over a Saturday and a Sunday, participants meet in person with Michael McCarthy and the MOVA mentors. Group activities, discussions and challenges connect the IMPACT pillars to young people's real lives.

  3. After

The learning continues in your choices

The experience is a starting point for applying new skills at school, in personal projects and in the next steps of your path.

International certificate Boston EDU

Participants who complete the program receive an international certificate issued by Boston EDU: a record of this learning experience for their résumé and academic path.
